Dr. Matt Nimmo was born and raised in Ada, Oklahoma. He attended the University of Oklahoma where he completed his undergraduate studies in biological sciences. In 2001 Dr. Nimmo was accepted to Oklahoma State College of Veterinary Medicine and graduated from the school in 2005 with a doctorate of veterinary medicine. Following graduation Dr. Nimmo accepted an internship at Peterson and Smith Equine Hospital in Ocala, Florida. In 2006 Dr. Nimmo was one of seventeen veterinarians selected as an ACVS large animal surgical resident. He performed his residency at Peterson and Smith Equine Hospital and completed his surgical training in 2009. Following completion of his training Dr. Nimmo accepted a surgical position at a private practice in middle Tennessee where he practiced from 2009 to 2011. In February of 2011 Dr. Nimmo achieved diplomate status in the American College of Veterinary Surgeons.
Dr. Nimmo is assisted by Jaclin Richey, RVT. Jaclin is a licensed and registered veterinary techinican. She was born and raised in Vacaville, CA. She moved to TN in 2004, where she joined a private equine practice. Jaclin graduated from Columbia State College in 2007 with a degree in Veterinary Technology. She is actively involved in the American Association of Equine Veterinary Technicians. Jaclin strives to give the best quality care to the patients and clients of Arbuckle Equine.
